ROOT CANALS
A root canal is a common dental procedure that helps save a tooth that is badly decayed or infected.
First, the dentist is going to numb the area around the affected tooth with local anesthetic ensuring that you will feel no pain during the procedure.
Next the dentist carefully creates a small opening in the tooth to access the inside of the tooth known as the pulp. Using specialized instruments they remove the infected pulp and clean out the inside of the tooth, eliminating any bacteria.
After the root canals are cleaned and shaped, the dentist then fills them with a rubber-like material to prevent further infection.
Finally, the dentist seals the opening with a filling to protect the tooth from bacteria. Finishing the root canal with a crown is the most effective way to ensure the tooth does not break in the future.
With a root canal and a crown, you'll be on your way to recovery
